Zoning Reminder:

       No building or structure or part of a building or structure shall be erected, constructed, reconstructed, replaced, moved or structurally altered without first obtaining a zoning permit. This permit may be obtained from the Fillmore County Zoning web site: www.fillmorecounty.org/webpages/zoning/forms.htm or from the village clerk. BURNING PERMITS:   

Please be advised that state statues and local codes require that an individual must have a burn permit in hand before he/she can begin the burn. Burn permits may be obtained by contacting Bobby Hoeft at 402.268.6061 or 402.366.6264; Lonnie Taylor at402.366.2530 or Jeff Neiman at 402.366.2518Obtaining a burn permit is a privilege and not a right. EPA rules apply to an individual's burn site and burning anything other than vegetation, grass, tree branches or leaves is illegal.  A burn permit will ONLY be granted if conditions are favorable to burn and the permit is issued at the discretion of the fire department personnel issuing the permit.

SNOW REMOVAL:

      Just a reminder about the village code pertaining to snow removal from sidewalks - Village Codes states sidewalks within the business district shall be cleaned within five hours after the end of a storm, unless the storm or fall of snow takes place during the night, in which case the sidewalk shall be cleaned before 8:30 the following morning.  Sidewalks within the residential areas of the municipality shall be cleaned within 24 hours after the end of the storm.  Thank you for your cooperation with snow removal. 

POP Tabs for Ronald McDonald House

GFWC Fairmont Woman’s Club is again collecting pop tabs for the Ronald McDonald House in Omaha.  You can drop off your pop tabs at the Fairmont Public Library or call Nancy Galaway at 268-4481.

This is an on going project so keep saving those tabs.
